title : Kolam Heroes and Heroines XD
One of the highlights in this semester is the privilege to work on an Anamorphic Kolam Design in Pavilion for this year's Deepavali. It's actually half of our Final Project that contains 40% of our marks. What's interesting about this is that we are required to design a Kolam and then apply Anamorphic art to create a 3D Illusion (look it up at Wikipedia or Google if you have no clue what's Anamorphic) and since it's a 3D view people can actually interact with the design (you'll understand soon when you see za pictures) and also we must complete this final project as a group of 3-4 people (Me, John,Joseph and Owen) so here are some pictures of my group's sketches X)

and here comes the Final outcome *drum roll*

and all of that right there is only half of it D8 *gasp* so this is only part 1. And before we proceed to part 2, all of our designs will be submitted to our lecturers. And among all the lecturers and department heads, they will choose a few works from us students and then combine it into a new one.. that's because our college was invited to create something stunning at Pavilion shopping mall for this year's Deepavali Festival so that design will be the one to appear in Pavilion. Students can volunteer to help out, so I volunteered and thank goodness I really got to participate. So we head to Pavilion for almost a whole week to do this, it was such a fun time cause I get to meet new people and also have the experience to make a Kolam for real. I always wondered how is it like making one, using rice to create something beautiful and symbolic. Now that's something you don't see or do everyday. We did panic quite a few times during the 2nd and 3rd day we were really busy gluing all the rice in place (neatly) and yeah I lost my cutter, scissors and tweezers during this "mission" TwT and not to mention we're all wearing the same shirt for 5 days (eww), cause we need to be in uniform so no choice :( and our hands were all in purple haha but after looking the final result I realize it was all worth it ♥ alright, I shall let the pictures do the rest of talking.

My classmates that participated ^^ Piek Khie, Sher-Min and Wen Ping

This is how Anamorphic works yop!

This picture even got into iFeel magazine :) besides iFeel, our kolam is also included in many places in the media like, Star newspaper (but they printed the wrong image wth), Sun newspaper, Msn site, News Straits Time (the best out of all the articles) and also in many blogs etc. we're all so proud of ourselves for all our effort. Loved the experience.
